I absolutely love dining at local places especially in a city like Fort Wayne where we have so many great ones! I have been to Toscani's several times and have had repeatedly bad service. The food is excellent and that is what brings me back but that only goes so far. The last time I was there the waitress acted as though she was in a rush to take our order, even though we were the only table there. I had to tell her how I wanted my pasta since she didn't bother to ask, and then didn't even write it down. When it came out wrong (surprise) she just said "oh I forgot to tell her that's how you wanted it." I was then presented with a side of the sauce I had wanted so that I could poor it on myself. Meanwhile, the cook and server had plenty of time to gossip in the back and take several smoke breaks. No apology was ever offered, nothing was taken off of our bill and we had to hunt her down to receive drink refills and to-go boxes. I will go back for carry out even though at this point I am not sure I would like to support this business at all. The owners need to evaluate their staff much better... this could be a great place.
